🏡 Exciting progress is happening on Teresa Lane in DeFuniak Springs, Habitat Walton's newest 9-home Habitat neighborhood! With four walls now built, both Homeowner #77 and Homeowner #78 are one step closer to achieving the dream of homeownership. 💙🔨 We are honored to continue building safe, affordable housing opportunities for local families right here in our community.

This work is only possible because of the incredible generosity of our Home Build Sponsors who believe in Habitat Walton’s mission and invest in changing lives through homeownership. Because of their commitment, families are building strength, stability, and self-reliance for generations to come. 🏠✨

We are sincerely grateful to the following partners for committing to our 2026–2027 Home Build Program: Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation | Eglin Federal Credit Union | Rushing Properties | Publix Super Markets Charities, Inc. | Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative, Inc. | The Art of Simple | Newman-Dailey Resort Properties | Edfinanical Services | Jill Boswell Design | William + Tricia Rennicke

🏠 Girls play house. Women build them! 💪

Habitat for Humanity of Walton County is grateful for our Women Build Program and all the incredible women who make it possible. Women Build sponsorships enable Habitat to host several Build Days each year where professional instructors teach volunteers how to safely use power tools and develop valuable construction skills.

Women Build also hosts our largest annual event, the Hard Hats and High Heels Luncheon, bringing women together for an afternoon of encouragement, celebration, and community impact. Through workshops at the ReStore, Women Build continues to connect the community by creating opportunities to learn new skills while supporting Habitat’s mission.

We proudly thank our 2026–2027 Women Build Sponsors:
✨ Sandestin Ladies Golf Association
✨ Bob Carver | In Loving Memory of Barbara Carver
✨ Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation
✨ The Chapel at Seaside
✨ Better Together Beverage
✨ Hotworxx

Together, we are empowering women and building a stronger community. 💙

United Way Emerald Coast continues to be a true community partner as we work together to connect Walton County residents with opportunities to apply for Habitat homeownership and build brighter futures. Together, we are building a better Walton County. 🤝

Habitat Walton is proud to be a United Way grant recipient and deeply appreciative 🫶 of their funding support toward Habitat homeowners’ closing costs, helping make affordable homeownership possible for deserving families right here in Walton County. A huge thanks to United Way Emerald Coast and Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative, Inc. for providing down payment assistance to our homeowners through their Community Investment Grant! 💚🏡

🎉 Congratulations to Walton County Sheriff's Deputy Jeff McIntosh, affectionately known throughout the community as “Officer Pineapple”, on his retirement! 🍍💙

For years, Officer Pineapple has been a shining example of service, kindness, and dedication to the students, families, and staff at Van R. Butler Elementary. His impact reaches far beyond the school walls, as he has also become part of the Habitat Walton family through volunteering and community involvement alongside his wonderful family. 🏡

Married to a Habitat Walton Board Member and part of a family with a true heart for service, Officer Pineapple has consistently demonstrated what it means to care for and uplift a community. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend.

It’s a pause. A moment to remember lives given, families forever changed, and sacrifices most of us will never fully understand. ❤️

And maybe that’s part of why peace matters so deeply. Not just peace between nations, but peace in homes, hearts, relationships, and weary souls. 🏡

At Habitat for Humanity of Walton County, we believe home is one place where peace can begin. A safe place to rest, heal, gather, and build a future.

Today, may we remember with gratitude… and live in a way that honors sacrifice by becoming people who pursue peace. 💙

Our office is CLOSED in observance of Memorial Day and will reopen tomorrow. WaltonCountyHabitat.org

💙 Please join us in celebrating and thanking Habitat Walton Marketing Intern Emma Del Mauro as she prepares to graduate late this summer with a degree in Marketing from Florida State University.

Emma interned in Habitat Walton’s affiliate office from January through May and quickly became an incredible asset to our organization. Her creativity, professionalism, and positive attitude made a lasting impact on our team and mission.

Marketing Director Jen Wilson shares, “Emma brought so much value to our team! Her optimism, sense of humor, and collaborative spirit made Emma not only a joy to work with, but incredibly effective as well. She took direction with ease, contributed creative ideas, and consistently approached every task with enthusiasm and excellence."

Emma will be greatly missed, but she will always be part of the Habitat family. We are so grateful for the time and talent she shared with us, and we know she has a bright future ahead as she pursues a marketing career focused on beauty and fashion. ✨ Join us in thanking Emma for her dedication and wishing her success in this exciting next chapter! 💐

Happy World Organizing Day! 🗂️

✨ Today we’re celebrating the power of organization and the incredible community partners who help families create functional, beautiful spaces they’re proud to call home. 💙

Habitat Walton CEO Teresa Jones recently had the pleasure of reconnecting with California Closets Emerald Coast owner Joe Lindenmayer to personally thank this valued community partner again for their generous support of Habitat for Humanity of Walton County.

Because of California Closets' generous donations, Habitat ReStore has clean and organized tshirts and swag for our volunteers and many of our Habitat Homes feature pantry closet systems that help families maximize storage and create efficient spaces for everyday living. 🏡✨

World Organizing Day highlights the benefits of organization and recognizes those who help enrich the lives of others through thoughtful, productive spaces. We are so grateful for community partners like California Closets that invest in making a lasting difference for local families.

Moments like these remind us how powerful community partnerships can be. Thank you for helping Habitat homeowners build strength, stability, and self-reliance through safe and affordable housing. 💪
