EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT: On Wednesday 4/22 at 5 pm, the City of Santa Monica’s Office of Sustainability and the Environment and Sustainable Works are proud to present:
The Biggest Little Farm Online Screening in Honor of Earth Day’s 50th Anniversary
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Director and Farmer John Chester
THE BIGGEST LITTLE FARM chronicles the eight-year quest of John and Molly Chester as they trade city living for 200 acres of barren farmland and a dream to harvest in harmony with nature. Through dogged perseverance and embracing the opportunity provided by nature’s conflicts, the Chester’s unlock and uncover a biodiverse design for living that exists far beyond their farm, its seasons, and our wildest imagination.
Featuring breathtaking cinematography, captivating animals, and an urgent message to heed Mother Nature’s call, THE BIGGEST LITTLE FARM provides us all a vital blueprint for better living and a healthier planet.
The event will take place Online – An email with the film link & password as well as the Zoom information will be sent to all registrants the morning of April 22nd!
Q&A
A Q&A via Zoom with John Chester will follow the screening. Emmy-winning director John Chester has been a filmmaker and television director for the last 25 years. His latest project The Biggest Little Farm, is a feature-length film that chronicles the epic 8-year story of Apricot Lane Farms, the regenerative farm he and his wife Molly started in 2011.
Laura Avery, Retired Santa Monica Farmers Market Supervisor and Soil Health Advocate, will host the Q & A.
