Wise & Healthy Aging Wise & Healthy Aging has been serving older adults, their families & caregivers for over 50 years.

WISE & Healthy Aging is the result of a 2007 merge between WISE Senior Services and Center for Healthy Aging (formerly Senior Health & Peer Counseling). Each organization served the community for more than three decades, earning national reputations for innovative and effective programs and services. Today, WISE & Healthy Aging acts as the as the trusted source and voice between senior adults and services available to seniors in Los Angeles County.

Our Adult Day Center was honored to welcome a visit from the phenomenal UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music Gluck Mariachi Ensemble earlier this month. Clients and staff were awestruck by their powerful presence, enjoying performances of beloved songs and moving to the music!

The UCLA Gluck Mariachi Ensemble is a group of student musicians performing music from various regions of Mexico. Their repertoire includes songs in a variety of different musical styles including sones jalicienses, huapangos, boleros and rancheras. They perform outfitted in the characteristic traje de charro, playing a mix of Western instruments such as the violin, guitar and trumpet as well as instruments specific to mariachi such as the vihuela and guitarrón. The UCLA Gluck Mariachi Ensemble is the latest group in a 50 year tradition of student mariachi groups at UCLA, which housed the first student mariachi in the United States in 1961. They are committed to educating the public of the culture and history of Mexico through its music.

Join WISE for the premiere of Waiting Room, a gripping new stage dramedy written and directed by Francesco Bauco and adapted from his 2025 novel of the same name. Unfolding in real time, this raw and emotionally charged story explores the moments, silences, and choices that can change everything.

Put on by BEE Foundation for the Arts, the performance will take place on Saturday, May 30 at 7pm at Colburn's Zipper Hall in Downtown Los Angeles. WISE will receive a portion of the proceeds and all WISE guests receive 20% off tickets when they purchase their tickets using promo code: WISE20 at checkout.
