Upward Bound House

The mission of Upward Bound House is to eliminate homelessness among families in LA with children by providing housing, supportive services and advocacy.

Upward Bound House is a community-based, social service agency headquartered in Santa Monica California. We are a federally recognized non-profit organization founded in 1991 to help mitigate the affordable housing crisis in Los Angeles County. We strive to reduce the number of homeless families with minor children who are hungry and living on the streets of Los Angeles, helping them to access basic resources and successfully transition into their own home.

We want to honor and acknowledge the admirable work of and their contributions to the community. Feeling Full LA is a nonprofit that was started by a group of high school aged students in 2021 after they joined the food service industry and realized the drastic amount of food waste produced by these businesses. They began partnering with local restaurants, bakeries, cafes, etc. to collect food waste at the end of the business day and transport it to those in need. They are actively looking to grow their program and partner with new businesses and nonprofits with the goal of reducing food insecurity. Please contact them on IG to begin a partnership!

It is beyond refreshing and admirable to see these young people’s contributions and dedication to such vital humanitarian issues. The future is bright.

Our future generation of chefs got to cook up some scrumptious meals while at the Proper Hotel. Professionally trained chefs worked with the children and families in our program and provided a cooking demonstration that they are sure to remember!!! The chefs were able to incorporate ingredients from our Urban Farm to complete this fresh and delicious meal.

We are so thankful for NFL Superstar 🏈 and his for always being available to support our homeless families. We had a great meal 🥘, amazing conversation and lots of fun!!! We’d also like to shout out 📢 for coordinating such a great day!
