Check out La Opinion's recent coverage of how CORE's Nature Now program is positively impacting the lives of students in our south L.A. communities!

“We try to reproduce the process of an application for employment. At the end of the program, teenagers can include the internship they did in their applications for college or for a job. It's hard to get a job without experience, but at the same time, you can't get experience when you don't have a job."

If you are ready to be a part of the solution, we are here to help!
CORE Educational Services is currently accepting applications for its first Junior Board Cohort, designed to engage young professionals in supporting and advancing the mission of CORE. Junior Board Members will have the opportunity to contribute their skills and talents to grant writing, fundraising, relationship building, and program development to foster organizational sustainability and growth. The cohort will learn about board leadership and nonprofit management, network with other professionals from the fields of education, finance, real estate, and more, and build their skills and resume. The Junior Board is designed to serve as a training ground for board membership on the CORE board and/or other nonprofits. It requires a commitment of one year, but with long-term opportunities: As the first cohort, this group will have the opportunity to recruit for, plan, and mentor the following year’s cohort, and to potentially apply for a full position on the board (depending on board size and needs at the time).

On Saturday, March 16th, 7pm-9pm, we’ll be holding our first Spring into the Future Fundraiser in Manhattan Beach!

Sign up at Evite here: http://evite.me/aXJbJvN4pN.

It’s a chance to enjoy an evening of drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and fun with like-minded individuals to support an amazing cause! Ticket cost: $25/person (a direct donation to the organization). The fundraiser will support CORE in continuing to expand programming to more schools and more students.

Very few schools provide after school programs for high school students. CORE’s goal is to fill this gap but not with a cookie cutter, holding pen, arts and crafts babysitting service for young people. Instead, CORE uses exciting and intriguing activities to engage young people in programs that build their self-esteem, leadership skills and prepare them to graduate, pursue a college degree and start a career. This fundraiser will enable CORE to serve more students with more programming.

Thank you to our event sponsors: Ripe Choice Catering and Selorm Atiedu (Catering).
