Watch out for sneaky text messages; you might sign up for a new Medicare plan. Offers for senior cards, flex cards, or other bonuses like food, gas, utilities, or rent are sent through text messages to get your information to switch you to a Medicare Advantage plan. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If your plan does get switched when you didn't want it to, contact the SMP.

On September 11, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the first responders and everyday heroes whose courage continues to inspire us.

Days of remembrance can also bring grief back to the surface. Grief does not follow a schedule, and there is no single “right” way to carry loss.

As grief expert David Kessler reminds us: “Grief is a no-judgement zone. There’s no one right way to grieve.”

At Hospice SLO County, we believe healing happens in community. We are here to offer compassionate grief counseling, support groups, and a place to be heard — at no charge.

Today, we remember. We honor. We make space for grief, connection, and healing.

Due to the current Heat Advisory, CAPSLO's Prado Homeless Services Center is open today and tomorrow to provide a safe, air-conditioned space for our community.

📍 Location: 40 Prado Road, San Luis Obispo
📅 Dates: Wednesday September 9th and Friday September 10th
⏰ Hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Services Provided:
❄️ Cool place to rest & escape the heat
🚿 Showers, laundry services, & hygiene items
🐕 Pets welcome! We have secure outdoor kennels for vaccinated pets/ESAs, and vaccinated registered service animals are welcome inside.

(Guests must be in good standing; unenrolled guests will complete a quick, simple screening assessment upon arrival).
