In 2025, the New Mexico state legislature passed Senate Bill 21, which authorized a state-level water quality permitting program and directed the Water Quality Control Commission to implement.

This past June, the commission held a ten-day hearing to consider a draft rule outlining the program.

Thank you for joining us for our annual Let's Go Birding Together! bird walk with the Feminist Bird Club of Albuquerque/Santa Fe at the Randall Davey Audubon Center in Santa Fe. Birders spotted 17 species from Towhees to Turkey Vultures along the loop trails, in Bear Canyon and on the grounds at the feeders.
