Frijoles Fire Smoke Update

The Frijoles Fire is currently producing a significant amount of visible smoke. The fire remains within the containment area, and emergency personnel are aware of the activity.

Please do not call 911 to report smoke from the Frijoles Fire. Keeping emergency lines available helps ensure 911 remains accessible for active emergencies.

Santa Fe County Fire Department extends our deepest condolences to the family, loved ones, friends, of the crewmember who passed away following a medical emergency while supporting the response to the Frijoles Fire.
The loss of a member of the fire service is felt throughout our entire firefighting community. We honor their service and dedication, and our thoughts are with all those mourning this loss. 💜

We are deeply saddened by the loss of a crewmember who died Sunday following a medical emergency while supporting incident response on the Frijoles Fire in northern New Mexico.

Our thoughts are with the family, loved ones, friends and crewmates, and with the entire wildland fire community mourning this loss.
