"Harbor High’s boys volleyball team, competing in the CIF NorCal Regional playoffs for a second straight year, came up short against Liberty of Brentwood in a back-and-forth donnybrook that featured numerous momentum swings.

Liberty took the first two sets and Harbor rebounded to take the next two. Down the stretch of a dramatic fifth set, the Lions had the last surge and pulled out a 25-21, 25-22, 21-25, 22-25, 15-13 victory in the thrilling Division II quarterfinal."

D-IV: No. 8 Sequoia at No. 1 Harbor, 1 p.m.

"Harbor and Santa Cruz received home games for the quarterfinals, which begin Saturday...Both Harbor and Santa Cruz were placed in D-IV. The Pirates earned the No. 1 seed and the Cardinals are No. 3.

Harbor (17-10), the third-place finisher in the SCCAL, hosts No. 8 Sequoia (15-12) of Redwood City, the sixth-place finisher in the PAL’s Bay Division, in the quarterfinals."

“I think they did a good job on the division,” Pirates coach Joseph Allegri said. “I was hoping for a home game. Once Aptos went D-III, I knew we would be top four in D-IV.”

THE PIRATES ARE HOSTING IN THE STATE PLAYOFFS!

Good Morning Everyone! I hope your weekend went well, we (Harbor) are looking forward to hosting tomorrow night's First Round matchup vs Liberty from Brentwood in the CIF State Tournament. Game details are below and due to this being a CIF State event; no cash will be accepted at the entrance. We hope to see you there for possibly the last athletic home event of the school year!

"Before a raucous home crowd, Harbor erased a 24-21 deficit by scoring the final five points of the opening set. The Pirates trailed 16-12 in the second set and again caught fire to charge ahead, closing with a 13-4 run. The momentum continued in the third set as Harbor never trailed and nailed the sweep."

Pirates keep winning! CCS Division II Champions! "Placed in the prestigious Open Division for the CCS Playoffs after dominating the in the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League!"
