Did you know? 🐒
Crab-eating macaques from Southeast Asia are incredible animals:
🌿 Despite their name, they don’t just eat crabs—they’re omnivores that enjoy fruits, seeds, insects, and even shellfish.
🏊 They are excellent swimmers and can often be seen diving into rivers, mangroves, and coastal waters in search of food.
🧠 They are highly intelligent and social, living in complex family groups where they communicate through facial expressions, vocalizations, and grooming.
As fascinating as they are, crab-eating macaques belong in the wild—not in our homes. Keeping primates as pets can lead to serious welfare issues for both animals and people. Their complex social, physical, and emotional needs simply cannot be met in a household environment.
Help us spread the message: admire wildlife, protect wildlife, but never make wildlife a pet. 💚
