In Campbell, our Field Services team responded to a report of two guinea pigs found inside a small animal carrier that had been discarded in a dumpster. After checking the surrounding area and speaking with the finder and several community members, no additional information was uncovered. The piggies were brought to SVACA, where they were evaluated by our medical team. Both were found to be healthy and social, though understandably nervous. In a nod to their rescue, they were named Bill and AndBill after the finder and his best friend, who happen to share the same name. The pair were later transferred to one of our placement partners and have since found a loving home together. 🐽❤️

Today we visited Grace Adult Day Health Center with 12 adoptable kittens! Participants spent the afternoon socializing and loving on the kittens — it was a lovely day for everyone involved. We look forward to our monthly visits and seeing the joy this little ones bring!

We know we just mentioned that we have kittens, but we can’t forget about sweet senior! Captain is a super friendly and outgoing 13-year-old guy. He loves nothing more than being held or cuddling up in a lap for pets. Stop by our Animal Care Center in Santa Clara to meet Captain!

Looking to add a little razzle dazzle to your life? Sourdough Sam is your guy! At 7 years old, Sam bops around the shelter with the same s***k and energy as the 7-month-old pups. He’s a hoot with other dogs, zigging and zagging around the yard, then sprinting up to (or into) you before flopping over for belly rubs. And as far as the looks, Sam came equipped with the rare double-snaggletooth package. It gives him a permanent smile and honestly, it matches his personality perfectly. If you’re looking for a dog who still has plenty of pep but also knows the value of a good cuddle, Sam’s ready to meet you at SVACA today!

The Super Bowl is taking place less than two miles from our shelter, and while you might not make it to Levi’s Stadium for the biggest game of the year, you can take home your own Levi in rabbit form! Levi is a super sweet, friendly girl about the size of a football, with the heart (and love) of a linebacker. She’s incredibly affectionate and absolutely loves pets. She’ll lean right into your hand for face scratchies, and we’ve never met a rabbit who enjoys them more!

Look at these two new cuties! 😍 Emerson and Delilah can’t wait to find their homes. Emerson is a classy gentleman who enjoys the finer things in life — classical music, gourmet snacks (aka treats), and quality time with his loved ones. Delilah is an adventure seeker who loves long walks in the beach and staying active before winding down at home with a puzzle and her people. Think one of them might be your perfect match?
