Who knew a construction site could be so fun?✨

The whimsy of Gwendolyn’s Playground at Dwight Murphy Field is already shining through! 🍄

While it might not look like it, this park renovation is officially HALFWAY through construction! 🎉

Most of the work so far has involved important site prep and underground infrastructure for the new park. Now we get to move on to more of the fun things, like these play structures. 💚

Arts in the Open, presented in partnership with the PARC Foundation, brings free live performances to the historic Plaza del Mar Band Shell from June to September.

🎤 A curated showcase of indie, surf rock, and acoustic artists

🎺 A brass performance by Music Academy of the West fellows + family-friendly activities

🎷An ensemble of over 60 local musicians performing well-known classics

Get ready for more live music and swing dancing at Friday Night Swing!

📍 Carrillo Recreation Center
👩‍🏫 7:30 - Beginner and intermediate swing lessons
🎺 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. - Live music and dancing

Each month brings a new band with music ranging from jazz and jive to blues and rockabilly.

Admission is $20 at the door, cash only, and includes lessons and a chance to win prizes.

Behind every flower is a team of dedicated staff and volunteers. 🌹

With the roses in full bloom, we're looking for extra hands to help keep the A.C. Postel Memorial Rose Garden looking its best. Volunteers help with deadheading, light pruning, weeding, and other garden tasks while spending time among the roses. 💚

No experience is needed and training is provided. Best of all, you can volunteer on your own schedule!

What’s all the buzz about at City Hall? 🐝

It’s National Pollinator Month and Santa Barbara is proud to be a certified Bee City! We’ve been recognized since 2017 for our commitment to protecting pollinators through habitat restoration and pollinator-friendly practices. 🌼

And of course, we can’t celebrate Pollinator Week without breaking out the inflatable bee costume to raise awareness! 💛

Last call to join us for National Trails Day this Saturday! ⛏️🌿

Show Rattlesnake Canyon Trail some love with a morning of trail work followed by a celebratory picnic in the park. No experience is needed and all tools and instruction will be provided.

Looking for a fun, active, and affordable way to keep kids busy this summer? ☀️

Our popular Summer Fun program returns June 22 through August 7 with seven weeks of games, crafts, sports, field trips, theme days, and more for children entering 1st through 6th grade.

Qualifying families can participate for just a $35 administration fee for all seven weeks. 💚

Join us to learn more about the Chumash Cultural Project at Ambassador Park!

This project has grown from 6 years of collaboration with Chumash community members and the California State Coastal Conservancy and aims to create a welcoming experience for all park visitors while honoring the living traditions, stories, and knowledge of the Chumash people.

Ambassador Park was chosen for its longstanding significance to the Chumash community, including its location within the historic Chumash village of Syuxtun and the surrounding coastal landscape that has supported Chumash life for thousands of years.

Swipe to see the current design featuring native and ethnobotanical landscaping, a walking path, open natural turf, gathering areas, and educational elements. 🌿
