Happy Labor Day!

Today we honor the dedication, resilience, and hard-earned contributions of workers across our nation. This day recognizes the countless individuals whose commitment has shaped our communities and strengthened the foundations of our country.

The Orange County District Attorney's Office pays tribute to all who labor - past and present - and acknowledges the vital role they play in building a safer, stronger Orange County.

The killer you never saw coming is as small as a few grains of salt.

Fentanyl is virtually undetectable until it is too late. Counterfeit pills and other illicit substances are often laced with lethal doses of fentanyl as a potent, cheap filler. Because of this, the risk of receiving laced products is high. Don't risk your life for a good time and avoid taking substances unless prescribed and instructed by a medical professional.

Even the Big A is reminding you to turn in unwanted E Motorcycles, E Bikes, E Scooters, and Pocket Bikes at the Orange County District Attorney’s Buy Back Safety: E Bike & E Moto Buy Back Event September 13, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Angel Stadium. Instead of paying citation fees and impound costs, turn in your E-Bikes and E-Motos in exchange for up to $1,000 in gift cards based on classification.

The first 75 participants will also receive two vouchers for the Angels’ final homestand of the season (valid for games September 14–20). A huge thank you to the Los Angeles Angels organization for their generous support of this community safety effort.

E Bike and E Moto injuries have surged across Orange County, becoming the leading cause of emergency room visits for children and resulting in costly hospital stays. Injury rates — including traumatic brain injuries, broken bones, and internal injuries — have risen 430% in Southern California over just four years.

Join us in teaming up for safer streets. Let’s prevent injuries, save lives, and keep everyone on the road safe.

Do you know who’s really texting you?

No one is immune to scams. Ninety-eight percent of Americans suspect that they have been targeted by scammers.

In 2024, Americans lost an estimated $550 million every day to scams.

Before sending money or sharing personal information, take a moment to verify who is actually on the other end of the conversation.

Protect yourself with these tips:

• Be suspicious of unexpected requests for money, even if the message appears to come from someone you know
• Verify the sender by calling them directly at a number you already know
• Never send money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or personal information because of an urgent text message
• Don’t click suspicious links or respond to unsolicited messages

If you believe you have been the victim of a scam, contact your local law enforcement agency immediately.

Stop. Verify. Don’t Send.

Think you can ride away from the consequences? Think again.

Reckless riding can endanger children and families, get you or someone else killed, and turn a reckless ride into serious criminal charges.

You can’t outrun accountability.
