Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) is a school district in Orange County, California that serves the city of Santa Ana. Although its geographic size is only 24 square miles (62 km2), it is the sixth largest school district in the state of California with approximately 58,000 students. SAUSD employs approximately 4,500 staff, and its operating budget is $483.1 million.

Meet Mr. Manny Rodriguez, one of our Little SAUSD Leaders and an Expanded Learning Site Supervisor!

As a young student at Davis Elementary, Manny wasn’t too excited about picture day after losing a tooth—but his mom insisted on capturing the moment, creating a childhood memory he still cherishes today. 😊

Years later, he returned to the same district where he attended kindergarten through 12th grade—this time as an educator and leader, giving back to the community that helped shape him. 📚❤️

His message to our students: Believe in yourself, dream big, and never let where you come from limit where you can go. ✨

From an student to an SAUSD leader, Mr. Rodriguez is proof that our stories can come full circle. 🌟

🎒✨ Back to School Night at our intermediate schools! ❤️

Our campuses were filled with energy as families connected with teachers, staff and school communities to kick off a great 2026–27 school year! 🏫📚

We’re sharing highlights from Lathrop Intermediate, MacArthur Fundamental, Mendez Fundamental, Carr Intermediate and Lydia Romero Cruz Academy, where SAUSD leaders were out visiting campuses and welcoming families, including Board President Katelyn Brazer Aceves, Board Vice President Hector Bustos, and Board Members Brenda Lebsack and Valerie Magdaleno.

Thank you to our families, staff and school communities for coming together and making Back to School Night a special start to the school year! ❤️
