🏛️ OCEA IN SACRAMENTO: This week, OCEA Board members, workplace leaders, and staff spent three days in Sacramento fighting for workers with .

Day 1: The California Labor Federation’s pre-primary convention. Hundreds of labor delegates voted on endorsements for the 2026 primary—state offices, state senate, state assembly, and California’s U.S. House seats.

Day 2: The joint legislative conference. We studied the labor movement’s full legislative agenda for the year — the bills, the sponsors, and the goals.

Day 3: We went straight to lawmakers and lobbied in person.

One thing stood out above everything else: AI was everywhere. Almost every bill on the agenda dealt with AI worker protections or ways to hold AI accountable in the workplace.

Rising costs are hitting working families hard—especially when it comes to college. That’s why we’re offering four $2,500 scholarships to help OCEA members’ kids pursue higher education.

The next generation of leaders who will fight for working people needs support today. If you have a student heading to college, trade school, or vocational training this fall, encourage them to apply.
