BGCSA Announces Youth of the Year!
We proudly award Tania Camacho, an extraordinary young woman with a $2,000.00 scholarship in recognition of her sound character, leadership skills and willingness to give back to the community.
Tania is a senior at Santa Ana High School and currently serves as President of Santa Ana High School's Advancement Via Independent Determination (AVID) Program, as well as being recognized as a National Honor Society Member. Upon graduating from high school, Tania has her sights set on attending Santa Ana College in the fall and a career in psychology.
Tania's ability to maintain academic success and find time to volunteer at the Club all while working to support her family has made her a key role model at the Club and among her peers.
We would also like to recognize Hanna Galvan who was awarded a $600.00 scholarship, Carlos Flores who was awarded a $200.00 scholarship and Mayra Camacho who was awarded a $200.00 scholarship.
Being named Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Boys & Girls Club of Santa Ana member can receive. As BGCSA's premier youth recognition program, Youth of the Year recognizes outstanding contributions to a member's family, school, community and Boys & Girls Club of Santa Ana, as well as overcoming personal challenges and obstacles. Youth of the Year encourages Club members to reach their full potential by achieving academic success, leading healthy lifestyles and contributing to their communities. Youth of the Year honorees are shining examples and living proof that great futures start at Boys & Girls Clubs.
