This past City Council meeting took a meaningful turn from the normal course of business as Lt. Hagin opened the meeting by recognizing members of the department for their outstanding service and dedication.

The first award was presented to Misty Winn for her countless hours and unwavering commitment to guiding the Sansom Park Police Department through the accreditation process. Misty’s dedication, leadership, and exceptional administrative skills have brought tremendous value to the department, and her contributions continue to strengthen our organization.

Lt. Hagin then recognized the officers involved in a critical Threat Against Life operation conducted in partnership with the FBI – Federal Bureau of Investigation and Texas Department of Public Safety Special Agents. Patrol officers and the Criminal Investigation Division worked tirelessly around the clock to ensure public safety and bring the operation to a successful conclusion.

The officers recognized for their efforts were:

* Sgt. Wright
* Detective Logan
* Officer Gunner
* Crime Analyst B. Moralez

Officer Sabal was also presented with a Commendation from the White Settlement Police Department for his assistance during a time of critical need. WSPD was managing multiple serious incidents simultaneously, including a structure fire where first responders required medical attention and a separate shooting. Officer Sabal’s willingness to step in and assist exemplifies the strong partnership between our agencies.

It was truly rewarding to see such a close-knit team come together - not only to serve our own community, but to support our neighboring agencies as well. The teamwork and collaboration since joining WEST COMM 911 has been outstanding. A special thank you to the WSPD Communications Center for their continued support, professionalism, and commitment to officer safety during high-stress and challenging calls.

Today, we proudly recognize Cadet Wyche for a moment that truly reflects the values of integrity, character, and selfless service.

While attending the Tarrant County College Law Enforcement Academy F30924601, cadets spent the past week on the firing range. During this time, Cadet Wyche’s professionalism, expertise, and prior training were clearly observed by academy instructors and command staff. Although he qualified for Top Shot, Cadet Wyche chose to decline the first-place award so another deserving cadet could receive that recognition - an action that speaks volumes about his character.

It is rare for a cadet to receive a commendation from academy leadership. Yesterday, during formation, Cadet Wyche was formally presented with a commendation for his exemplary character. The recognition was presented by command staff, Mr. Gresham and Lt. Hagin.

Cadet Wyche, this is the type of character it takes to be a police officer and a powerful example of service before self. Keep up the outstanding work - we are proud of you!

🚔 Proactive policing. Real results.

Officer Sabal was out doing what he does best - patrolling identified business districts and problem areas to keep our community safe. During his patrol, he encountered a homeless subject in violation of city ordinances. Through his investigation, Officer Sabal determined the individual was a fugitive who failed to identify and was in possession of methamphetamine, resulting in a felony arrest.

Later in the shift, Officer Sabal was dispatched to a theft in progress at a local business. Thanks to his exceptional investigative work, he was able to quickly locate the suspect - also a fugitive - and make another felony arrest.

This is proactive policing in action. Officer Sabal’s attention to detail, dedication, and commitment to serving our community made a real impact. We are proud to have officers like him working every day to keep our city safe!

Sansom Park Police Department is proud to announce the promotion of Officer T. Logan to Detective.

Detective Logan brings a broad and invaluable range of experience to our department. His service includes time in the United States Army as an elite scout, where he served in Iraq and was frequently engaged under hostile conditions. Following his military service, he worked as a Special Investigator with Child Protective Services and later served with Pardon and Parole.

Fulfilling a long-standing professional goal, Detective Logan transitioned into investigations and immediately demonstrated his capability by completing a threat-to-life case. He played a key role as one of the primary detectives on the investigation, working in close coordination with the FBI – Federal Bureau of Investigation and Texas Department of Public Safety Special Agents. His experience, dedication, and investigative skill continue to be a tremendous asset to our Criminal Investigations Division. We are proud to have Detective T. Logan as part of our team!

🇺🇸 Honoring Service. Building Our Future. 🇺🇸

The Sansom Park Police Department is proud to welcome three outstanding cadets.

Cadet M. Erwin grew up in North Fort Worth and began his career of service by joining the United States Marine Corps straight out of high school. Stationed in Japan, he served honorably before choosing to continue his commitment to service as a police officer in the community he calls home. Cadet Erwin brings with him a distinguished military record, mixed martial arts training, and exceptional physical fitness. He is currently attending the Council of Governments Police Academy and continues to set a high standard for excellence.

Cadet B. Ruiz comes from a proud family legacy of law enforcement service. He joins our department as a seasoned Army veteran who served overseas in Afghanistan, a designated combat zone. During his military career, he was selected as a Drill Instructor, entrusted with training the next generation of America’s soldiers. Cadet Ruiz is currently attending the Council of Governments Police Academy, and we are excited to see the discipline, leadership, and life experience he brings to our team.

Cadet T. Wyche was born and raised in Sansom Park. He left his hometown to serve in the United States Army, later becoming part of an elite Army scout unit. His service included assisting with border security operations and combating threats to our nation. Cadet Wyche’s dedication to service reflects his strong connection to this community and his commitment to protecting it.

Over the past several shifts, Officer Hans has been hard at work doing what he does best - protecting the community he proudly serves.

While conducting traffic enforcement on Skyline Drive, Hans utilized his training and instincts to assist in a felony drug arrest. He also spent time assisting neighboring agencies during multiple incidents throughout the area.

Hans was later requested to assist with a felony warrant service, helping maintain a secure perimeter on a residence where Fort Worth Police Department and River Oaks Police Department were searching for a wanted fugitive. During the operation, Hans helped ensure officer safety by clearing the structure, which led to two subjects being located and detained.

During the incident, our drone unit was also deployed, providing real-time aerial support and an additional set of eyes from above to enhance situational awareness and help ensure officer safety on the ground.

And yes - rest assured - Officer Hans was well compensated for his hard work with his favorite form of payment: dog treats!

Today, Chloe had the opportunity to meet with the Sansom Park Police Department and the River Oaks Police Department. During her visit, Chloe shared what she enjoys about law enforcement and was able to experience the use of patrol vehicle lights and sirens.

Additionally, Chloe and Officer Hans captured a special moment together, highlighting the positive interaction between officers and the future of our community.
