A starving lab named Happy and a fragile calf named Alice don’t just make for powerful stories. They challenge how we think about compassion, responsibility, and coexistence.

In our newest episode, we sit down with Jeremy Sons, known to many as the Denton Spider-Man, to talk about how stopping for stray animals led to the creation of Clear Creek Adventure Ranch, a 501(c)(3) sanctuary now home to more than 60 rescued animals, many with special needs.

Jeremy takes us inside the daily rhythm of the ranch. Sunrise turnouts. Bottle feeding and diapers. Endless scooping and fresh hay. Building safe habitats and ending the day with quiet evening rounds. The mission is simple and unwavering: reduce stress, increase safety, and put animals first.

We also talk about the ranch’s animal-first “Meet the Animals” experiences, hands-on education for kids led by Jeremy’s wife, a longtime elementary teacher, and the importance of protecting the Clear Creek wildlife corridor as a proposed tollway threatens vital habitat.

Winter Storm Fern took a real toll on our local businesses. Several shops and restaurants were forced to close early or shut down for multiple days to keep employees and customers safe. For many small businesses, even a few lost days can have a big impact.

As the ice melts and it is safe to get back out, let’s show our support by choosing to shop local first. Grab a coffee, eat downtown, schedule that appointment, or pop into a local store you love. Every purchase makes a difference and helps our local business owners recover from the storm.

❄️ Winter Weather Update: Understanding the Possibility of Load Shedding ❄️

As we continue to monitor Winter Storm Fern, we want to keep our community informed about what could happen during extreme cold.

While ERCOT currently anticipates sufficient power generation to meet statewide demand, severe winter conditions can change quickly. If necessary to protect the stability of the Texas power grid, ERCOT may mandate a load shed for electric providers across the state.

If a load shed is mandated, the City of Sanger would be required to comply, which could result in temporary, controlled power outages. These actions are taken to help prevent larger, widespread outages.

At this time, no load shedding is expected, but we encourage residents to plan ahead and be prepared. We will continue to closely monitor conditions and provide timely updates if anything changes.

Another UPDATE:
FM 455 is Open

UPDATE:
Atmos has shut the gas off and started the repairs. At this time we do not have an estimated time of completion.

A gas line was struck during construction on FM 455 West. As a result, FM 455 West is closed from 8th Street to 5th Street, including the four-way stop at 5th and FM 455. Traffic is being rerouted to 2nd Street and 8th Street. Estimated time is unknown.

Atmos, Fire, and Police personnel are currently on scene.
