🚨 Sangamon County residents, this deserves your attention. ‼️

During the CyrusOne process, dozens of people showed up to speak about a massive project that will affect our land, roads, water, energy, emergency services, and future.

Many of them never got the chance.

Public comment was cut short.
A motion to allow more residents to speak was denied.
The project moved forward anyway.

That should concern every resident, regardless of party.

Public office is not personal allegiance.
Public office is public duty.

When elected officials are entrusted with decisions this large, the people deserve more than a process that feels rushed, controlled, or already decided. We deserve transparency. We deserve accountability. We deserve representatives who remember that public input is not a courtesy, it is part of democracy itself.

There is now a petition calling for a PUBLIC, RECORDED vote to remove:

• County Board Chair Andy Van Meter
• Democratic Caucus Leader Tony DelGiorno

It is irresponsibly premature for the County Board to act on the data center this week. The state legislature is advancing bills to regulate data centers and it is likely that if we delay we’ll be able to get a better deal from
CyrusOne. Which is why CyrusOne is trying so hard to resolve the issue asap.
