Today, we pause to honor and remember the 2,977 precious lives lost on September 11, 2001.

25 years later, we stand together in deep remembrance of the victims, their families, and the incredible bravery of the first responders who rushed toward danger without hesitation. Their courage and sacrifice represent the very best of who we are.

In the face of unthinkable tragedy, our nation chose unity, resilience, and hope. Today, we reflect with profound gratitude for the freedom, strength, and unwavering spirit that bind our country together.

May we never forget their sacrifice, and may we continue to answer adversity with the same courage, patriotism, and unity that defined us then.

🐾🪨 K9 Zulu sniffed out something a little different!

While conducting a routine security sweep of the airport, Zulu sniffed out this colorful rock! 👃✈️ It quickly made some new friends at the Sanford Airport Police Department before Zulu passed it off to one of her flight attendant friends to continue its travels.

Talk about overpacking! Yesterday at SFB, passenger Kevin Perez Estevez was caught trying to smuggle 43 bottles of black-market male enhancement drugs back into the country from the Dominican Republic. He was clearly looking to enhance his performance, but the only thing he successfully raised was our suspicion. Let this be a friendly reminder: obtaining illicit pharmaceuticals abroad might be easy, but if you think you’re bringing them through SFB, you’re in for a very hard time!

A huge thank you to WESH 2 News and reporter Justin Schecker for highlighting Officer Jaques’ incredible lifesaving actions. On his way to work, Officer Jaques sprang into action to save a toddler's life. We are deeply grateful to WESH 2 for helping us honor his commitment to protecting our community every single day.

At today’s Sanford Airport Authority Board Meeting, Officer Christopher Jaques was officially presented with the Chief's Commendation Award for his remarkable life-saving actions.

In the early morning hours of July 25, while commuting to work, Officer Jaques spotted an unsupervised, unclothed toddler wandering on a dark, heavily trafficked roadway. Recognizing the immediate danger to the child's life, he acted swiftly to secure her safety until local law enforcement arrived on the scene.

Thanks to Officer Jaques' alertness, quick thinking, and unwavering commitment to public safety, a tragedy was prevented. This heroic act truly exemplifies the highest standards of compassion, professionalism, and service.
