Update: Sanford Police Arrest Suspect In Sunday’s Homicide Case

Media Release: Sanford, FL (June 12, 2026): Sanford Police Investigators have arrested Undray Allen (D.O.B. 11/19/1991) in connection with the June 7, 2026, homicide of Deon Fields.

Based on the investigation, it was determined that Undray Allen and Deon Fields were well-known to each other and were in a verbal altercation while they were both in the vehicle. During that time, Allen shot and killed Fields in the vehicle.

Allen is being charged with 2nd Degree Homicide, Possession of Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Resisting Arrest without Violence. Allen has been transferred to Seminole County’s Jail.

This incident is still under investigation. Based on the information investigators received, there may have been several witnesses at the time of the incident who have not been forthcoming. Sanford Investigators are asking the community and witnesses for additional assistance in this case.

Regarding the homicide investigation, Chief Cecil Smith stated, “Our investigators worked diligently to charge the suspect in this case in a short period of time. I am proud of their hard work. The fact that the community has provided little to no information to assist with getting violent individuals off the streets is disheartening. Law enforcement officers cannot keep an entire city safe without the community’s help and participation. We encourage anyone who has additional information to come forward and work with us to take these violent individuals off the street.”

Investigators are asking anyone with additional information about this incident to please contact the Sanford Police Department or Crimeline at 800 423-TIPS (8477) or visit www.crimeline.org. Calls made to Crimeline remain anonymous, and tips to Crimeline that lead to solving homicides are eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 dollars.

Sanford Police Investigating a Homicide and Shooting with Injuries

Media Release: Sanford, FL (June 7, 2026): Sanford Police are investigating two shootings, which resulted in one dead and one seriously injured.

On June 7, 2026, at approximately 3:20 am, Sanford Police received a 911 call reporting a possible shooting with injuries at Historic Goldsboro Blvd and Mangoustine Ave. Responding officers located a victim with a gunshot wound and was transported to a local area hospital.

As officers were responding to the initial call, shortly after the second 911 call, officers received an additional 911 call reporting another shooting at Historic Goldsboro Blvd and Pomegranate Ave. Officers located a male, later identified as Deon Fields (DOB 05/11/1994), dead from gunshot wounds.

During the initial investigation, Sanford Investigators located a person of interest in the area with a firearm. That individual is currently being treated in a local area hospital for mental health concerns.

Based on preliminary investigation, it is unknown if both shootings are related to each other. The circumstances surrounding what occurred are still under investigation; however, it appears to be an isolated incident, and there’s no immediate danger to the public.

Regarding today’s events, Chief Cecil Smith stated, “Our investigators are still working diligently to understand what happened to cause one young man to lose his life and send another to the hospital. We need our community to stand together with us and say that gun violence, and crimes associated with it will not be tolerated. We believe there were witnesses who saw something. We encourage them to come forward and work with us to take these violent individuals off our streets.”

Investigators are asking anyone with additional information about this incident to please contact the Sanford Police Department or Crimeline at 800 423-TIPS (8477) or visit www.crimeline.org. Calls made to Crimeline remain anonymous.
