The Town is accepting applications for Police Chief. The successful candidate shall plan and administer the law enforcement program and activities of the town. Minimum qualifications include Colorado POST Certification, and extensive and responsible experience in law enforcement work including supervisory experience. Thorough knowledge of the principles, problems and techniques of municipal police administration; thorough knowledge of the technical and operating practices and methods of law enforcement and crime prevention. Must have ability to handle fi****ms and maintain certification and fi****ms proficiency in accordance with Colorado POST regulations. Applicants must complete a background check, drug screening, physical, and a psychological evaluation. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Town of Sanford Seeks Financial Oversight Services

The Town of Sanford is seeking a qualified individual or firm to provide financial oversight services for the municipality. This role is responsible for ensuring proper stewardship of public funds, maintaining segregation of duties, and supporting the town’s overall financial integrity.

Key duties include oversight of budgeting, forecasting, auditing, and financial reporting; development of policies and internal controls; advising elected officials on financial strategy and risk management; assisting with annual budget preparation and long-term planning; and coordinating external audits.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, public administration, or a related field, or have 5–10 years of relevant financial management experience, preferably in the public sector. Knowledge of governmental accounting standards (GAAP and GASB) is required.

Public Works Maintenance Department Position

The Town of Sanford is accepting applications for a Public Works Maintenance position.

Position Duties Include: Water and wastewater system operation and maintenance, Water testing and sampling
Equipment maintenance and repair, Park maintenance, Road maintenance and repair, Emergency response duties

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required, Valid driver’s license required, Ability to perform physical outdoor work in various weather conditions, Class S Water Operator Certification (or equivalent) preferred, Applicants without certification must be willing and able to obtain required certifications through training

Pay:
$20.00 – $25.00 per hour, depending on experience (DOE)

Benefits: IRA retirement benefit, Sick leave, Vacation leave, and
Training support

The Town is willing to train the right candidate.

Applications may be picked up at Sanford Town Hall on Mondays and Tuesdays between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

Notice of Vacancy of Trustee Position

The Town of Sanford is seeking applicants for the position of Trustee for the Town Board of Trustees. There are two (2) vacant seats in the position of Trustee. The terms for these appointments will be a four-year term.
The responsibilities of a Trustee include but are not limited to fiduciary responsibility for managing the affairs of the town, attending monthly town board meetings, and participating in decisions that are in the best interest of the public.
Anyone interested in the position will notify the Town Clerk in writing within thirty (30) days, expressing his or her interest and willingness to serve as Trustee on the Town Board. The Town Board will consider all applicants for the position. During the June 11, 2026, Regular Town Board meeting, the Town Board may appoint new trustees.
All applications will be reviewed; candidates must be registered voters and preside within the Town’s boundaries.
Letters of interest and resumes must be submitted to the Town Clerk’s office at 390 Greenleaf Street, PO Box 237, Sanford, CO 81151 no later than 4:00 pm on Tuesday June 9, 2026.
