🎾🏓 SERVE'S UP AT GROVEVIEW PARK! ✨

Great news for our local players! The tennis and pickleball courts at Groveview Park (306 Springview Drive) are officially reopening this Saturday, September 5th! 🥳

Over the past several weeks, our Parks and Recreation Department and contractors have been hard at work rehabbing the courts. Parks crews are putting on the finishing touches today—installing brand-new nets, retying center fencing cables, securing wind barriers, and repairing court entrances. 🛠️

🌳 Not into racquet sports? Groveview Park has something for everyone this holiday weekend:

🏀 Basketball courts

🚶‍♂️ Walking trails

🏋️‍♀️ Outdoor exercise court

🛝 Playground & picnic pavilions

In observance of Labor Day, Sanford City Hall and non-essential municipal offices will be CLOSED on Monday, September 7, 2026.

⏰ Reopening: We will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 7:30 AM.

🚨 Note: Emergency first responder services (Police & Fire) and essential utilities will remain fully operational 24/7.

We wish all of our Sanford residents and team members a safe, happy, and relaxing holiday weekend! Enjoy time with family and friends! 💙🍔

⚡ POWER RESTORED: Facility Reopening Update ⚡

Great news! Power has been fully restored to all City facilities affected by earlier line outages.

Our staff is currently completing safety checks on all buildings to ensure everything is ready for visitors.

🕐 Reopening at 1:00 PM Today:

✅ Sanford Civic Center

✅ Senior Center

✅ Sanford Museum

⛲ Ft. Mellon Splash Pad Update: The splash pad will remain closed for the rest of today while staff complete final system checks, and is expected to reopen tomorrow morning.

🚨 UPDATE 🚨

Splash Pad Closure Notice

Due to heavy rain and a power outage that affected the Ft. Mellon Park Splash Pad's electrical systems, the splash pad will be closed for the remainder of today. Staff are assessing the system to ensure no damage occurred as a result of power surges.

Once staff have completed a full inspection of the system, the splash pad is expected to reopen tomorrow. We will update you if this changes.

🚨 FACILITY CLOSURE & SAFETY NOTICE 🚨

Due to downed power lines in the area, the following City facilities are currently without power and closed until further notice:

🛑 Sanford Civic Center

🛑 Senior Center

🛑 Sanford Museum

🛑 Ft. Mellon Splash Pad

⚠️ PLEASE AVOID THE IMMEDIATE AREA while crews work safely to assess the damage. We are currently working with utility teams to get an estimated time for power restoration and will post updates as soon as we have more information.
