💰 Day 6: Economic Impact – Year One at Lee County Athletic Park 💰
Today we’re celebrating the incredible impact Lee County Athletic Park has made in its first year — and the numbers tell an amazing story. Thanks to Visit Sanford for providing these insights through their Placer Report!
📊 YEAR ONE BY THE NUMBERS:
📍 316,200 Total Visits across our fields, playground, and walking trails
👥 78,700 Unique Visitors enjoying the park
🚗 38% Out‑of‑Town Visitors, helping establish Lee County as a premier sports tourism destination
And from tournament activity alone, our park contributed an estimated $2,105,040 in economic impact to the local community — supporting hotels, restaurants, shops, and businesses across Lee County.
These numbers reflect more than just visits and dollars — they show how much our park has become a place for sporting legacies, lasting memories, built brick by brick. 🧱✨

🔧 Day 5: Equipment Spotlight – Behind the Scenes of Great Fields 🔧
Outstanding fields don’t happen by accident — they’re the result of top‑tier equipment, daily care, and a hardworking team committed to keeping Lee County Athletic Park in peak condition.
This year, our maintenance fleet included:
• Reel Mower – delivering that smooth, professional finish
• ABI Force – precision grooming and field conditioning
• Turf Tank – automated, accurate field lining every time
• 2 Husqvarna robotic mowers – handling the slopes and hard‑to‑reach areas
• Plus essential tools like w**d eaters, blowers, and gators that keep every corner of the park clean and game‑ready 🌱⚾️
With amazing staff and top‑notch equipment, we’re able to provide a high‑quality, consistent experience for athletes, families, and visitors — truly building sporting legacies and lasting memories, brick by brick. 🧱✨

💛 Day 4: Staff Appreciation – Behind the Scenes 💛
Today we’re celebrating the incredible team that keeps Lee County Athletic Park running every single day. Their work often begins long before the first visitor arrives — preparing fields, maintaining facilities, supporting events, and ensuring every game has a place to thrive.
We are proud to have 7 full‑time staff, 3 part‑time team members, and 2 dedicated housekeepers working tirelessly behind the scenes, contributing over 230 hours of field maintenance every week. 🔧🌱 Rain or shine, heat or cold, their commitment never wavers.
Their dedication reflects the heart of our mission: serving Lee County residents and building a place where our community can connect, grow, and play. These are the hands behind sporting legacies, lasting memories, built brick by brick. 🧱✨
Thank you to the team who makes it all possible. 🙌

📊 Day 3: Rentals & Community Use – A Year in Review! 📊
From early‑morning practices to evening games under the lights, our fields stayed active all year — serving athletes, families, and organizations across Lee County.
⏱ 1,540 hours rented across baseball, softball, and multipurpose fields
(Hourly rentals only — does not include monthly rentals or tournaments)
📅 Monthly Rentals — How They Work:
Organizations can rent a specific field for an entire month, giving them priority use of that field whenever they need it. Out of our 10 fields, these monthly rental opportunities were utilized 50% of the time — leaving the remaining time available for hourly rentals or first‑come, first‑served community use.
This balance ensures structured access for leagues and consistent availability for the public, making sure everyone in Lee County has a chance to play. ⚾️⚽️
🏘 This past year, our fields were home to:
• Lee County Parks & Recreation
• Sanford Area Soccer League
• Carolina Football Club
• Central Carolina Community College
Every hour rented represents teamwork, development, and community connection — sporting legacies, lasting memories, built brick by brick. 🧱✨
Tune in tomorrow as we continue celebrating Year One with more highlights from Lee County Athletic Park! 📅🔥

🏆 Day 2: Tournament Spotlight – A Year in Review! 🏆
From first pitch to final out, tournaments have been at the heart of Lee County Athletic Park this year — and the numbers tell the story!
⚾️ 32 tournament weekends hosted on our baseball and softball fields
👥 An estimated 470 visitors per weekend
💰 $2,105,040 in estimated economic impact for our Lee County community
We are honored and proud to be the chosen site for outstanding tournament hosts including Perfect Game Baseball & Softball, Dynamic Baseball, USSSA Baseball, and Top Gun Baseball. Their events brought athletes, families, and fans from across the region — building sporting legacies and lasting memories, brick by brick. 🧱✨
Thank you to every player, coach, spectator, organization, and staff member who helped make Year One something truly special. 🙌

Hello Kiwanis Family Park visitors! 🌳💚
We wanted to let you know that dead trees near the county‑owned parking lot — along with the dead tree to the right after you cross the bridge — will be removed on Tuesday, September 8th. The county parking lot will be closed Monday evening so Phil Stone & Sons Tree Removal crews can start work first thing Tuesday morning.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue working to keep our parks safe and enjoyable for all. 🌳💚
