"One of my favorite memories was in 1999, we played Arizona State University—ranked 21 in the nation at that time—in the Sundevils' Stadium, and we beat them 35 to 7. We were the vast underdog in that game, and I can remember we took a bus ride from Las Cruces, New Mexico to Tempe, and that bus ride home was so electric. It was one of the biggest wins in New Mexico state history at the time. The student body section went into our home stadium and took the goalposts down and dumped them into the alumni pond on campus!"

"My early life experiences with my dad brought me to want to be in a leadership capacity. Not only did I grow up on the sidelines with him, I would go to coaching school with him, and loved to see the college coaches come and speak. I really tuned in on how they lead, and shape people, and grow people and winning teams. Transitioning from a coach to this was a smooth, easy transition, because it was the same thing."
