nal through many interactive displays. Highlights include a 41-ft patrol boat as well as live camera and radar images of the 17.4 mile waterway. The Visitor Center also offers films about the Canal's history, flora and fauna. We offer a variety of interpretive programs through out the summer and fall. Some of the programs offered include natural and cultural history hikes, beach explorations, Jr Ranger Camp, Canal Kids, Visitor Center tours and an evening lecture series. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, working in cooperation with agencies from the states of CT, MA, NH and VT, provides quality outdoor recreational opportunities at 31 Corps-operated flood risk management reservoirs within these states. The lands and waters of these civil works water resource projects are managed to conserve the natural resources as well as for the primary authorized purpose of flood risk management. Disclaimer

Kick off National Safe Boating Week with us on Saturday May 16th to help make sure you're ready for another safe and fun season on the water.

At the Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center:
🛟 10am-12pm: USCG Auxiliary, Cape Cod Canal Flotilla will have a table set up with all sorts of great boating safety info and give-aways.

🐾 11am-12pm: Bobber the Water Safety Dog will be here too with prizes and activities!!!

At the Sandwich Marina:
🛥 Starting at 9am: USCG Auxiliary will be offering FREE VESSEL SAFETY CHECKS. Whether your boat is in the marina or trailered here... they can check your boat. They'll go through the list with you to help make sure your boat has everything it needs. Be on the lookout for them in the parking lot across from the boat ramp. If the demand is there, they'll be on-site until 2pm.

Mile markers are coming to a Canal Service Road near you (finally)!!!

Mile marker painting started today and will continue through next week.
- Whole and half miles will be labeled.
- Quarter miles will be marked with a dash and a Corps Castle.

If you see cones next to the mile markers, take care--the paint might still be wet!
