👉 The Perkins Township Police Department will be closing U.S. 250 between East Strub Rd. and East Perkins Ave. The road will be closed from approximately 9:30am to 11:00am or until the conclusion of the parade. Traffic will be rerouted around during the closure. After the parade is complete, the road will open to normal traffic patterns.

The boil alert is now lifted.

🎉 GOOD NEWS: BOIL ADVISORY LIFTED 🎉

Testing is complete, and the boil advisory for Perkins, Groton, and Oxford Townships has been officially lifted. The water is safe to drink and use for all normal activities!

The Erie County Department of Environmental Services (DOE) has successfully completed repairs on the Columbus Ave. water main and confirmed that water quality meets all safe drinking standards.

🚰 What should you do now? If your water has been sitting unused, it is a good practice to run your cold water taps for 1–2 minutes to flush your home's pipes. If you have an automatic ice maker, you may want to dump the first batch of ice.

Updated information regarding the water break and boil alert.

UPDATE 5/22/26 5:00 PM:
We will provide another update tomorrow morning (4/23) at 8:45 AM once the bacterial sampling results can be observed and reported, whether the boil advisory is then to be lifted or remain in place.

5/22/26 8:00 AM:
After further investigation, we have confirmed the precautionary boil advisory will affect the area highlighted in red. The boil advisory will remain in effect until all necessary bacterial sampling has been completed and all samples test negative for bacterial contamination. The bacterial testing process will take a minimum of 24 hours.

Perkins Township - There is a water main break on Columbus Ave. between Perkins Ave and Strub Rd. There are many customers outside that area that will experience low water pressure. Once water service is restored, there will be at least a 24 hour boil advisory. A boil advisory means you should vigorously boil your water 1 to 2 minutes before consumption. Crews have isolated the break and are beginning excavation to repair the break. An update will follow. Out of precaution, we are issuing a boil advisory for the area highlighted in red.

Please join the @ for their annual Baby Supply Collection Drive at Walmart tomorrow, Friday, May 22nd! Officers will be in the grocery side entrance area to collect baby items such as diapers, food, wipes, and formula.

All donations will be given to local charities including Heartbeat of Sandusky and Erie County Children's Services. If you are not able to make it to Walmart on May 22nd, they will be accepting donations in the police department lobby, located at 2610 Columbus Avenue.

Senior Bingo!

**𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝘂𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗼!**

In collaboration with the Senior Center, we will be offering Senior Bingo the last Thursday of each month from May-October for 2026!

𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗲: Tomorrow, Thursday, May 28th

𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Strickfaden Park (Rain or Shine!)
