💙 Community Coming Together to Make a Difference! 💙

The Sanilac County Health Department’s Children’s Special Health Care Services (CSHCS) Program is proud to share a wonderful example of what can happen when a community comes together to support a child and family.

Through the Children’s Special Needs (CSN) Fund, CSHCS was able to obtain funding to help Hayden Vanconant and his family with a much-needed accessibility ramp for their home. This ramp will provide Hayden and his family with safer and easier access to their home.

This project truly took a community effort, and we would like to recognize and thank everyone who helped make it possible:

💙 Gerald Pathic, Elementary Principal at Peck Community Schools, for recognizing the family’s need and reaching out Stephanie Holman at the Sanilac County Health Department to help connect the family with resources.

💙 The Peck Lions Club, represented by John Burns and Wanda Grifka, who generously helped fund the remaining costs needed for the project.

💙 The Village of Peck, for helping with the permits needed to complete the project.

💙 Coughlin Cares and owner Patrick Coughlin, for working hard to make sure Hayden could get the ramp he needed. We are especially grateful for their efforts and commitment to getting this project completed for a child and his family.

We would also like to recognize Hayden’s family members who were part of this special project: his dad, Taylor Vanconant, and his grandma, Tami Miller.

It is truly heartwarming to see public health, our schools, local organizations, our village, local businesses, and family members all working together to make a meaningful difference in the life of a child.
