The Sandusky Lions Club is a team of men and women working together to make life a little easier for some, through community projects of which include; sight projects, scholarships, Health Fairs, food banks, and educational programs. “WE SERVE” is our motto. orking together to assist the sight impaired of our area. In that same year, Helen Keller came to Sandusky and spoke at a Lions Club convention to thousands of members in support of The American Foundation for the Blind. She then challenged the Lions International to be “Knights of the Blind”. The Sandusky Lions Club Fund for the Blind of Erie County was founded on behalf of a bequest and incorporated in January 1975. The Sandusky Lions Club, the steward for The Sandusky Lions Club Fund for the Blind of Erie County, engages in charitable acts by purchasing glasses and eye examinations, canes for the blind and eye related medical treatment for area sight impaired residents.
