On election night we gathered to watch the returns. The main reason for getting together, though, was to thank our volunteers and contributors --- our supporters.
We wanted to do it loud and clear and brassy, so we commandeered a microbrewery, "The Republic of Ale", and, well...let us just say a good time was had by all.
Juan provided tacos and burritoes from his mobile kitchen just outside the door; volunteers brought finger food and other snacks; and Zach & Patrick (the owners) made sure the brew was available and most tasty.
There is no way to really pay back all the work our volunteers did over the course of the campaign. Nonetheless, we hope our election night hoedown constituted some kind of compensation. All of you were an inspiration, and will continue to be as I cherish fond memories of hard work done for a noble cause.

Our volunteers have been busy phone banking (and will be doing so every Tuesday evening 5:30 to 8 PM through October, on Tuesday, November 1, and then on Monday, November 7, so could still use your help!) We've also been dropping off literature door-to-door, providing background on the local Democratic candidates. Kudos to all our volunteers for their hard work and dedication!
We want to let everyone know that we can provide rides to the polls. If you or anyone you know needs transportation in order to vote, please call our office at 505-286-3367 and we will happily make arrangements for you.

I had a very busy and inspiring weekend. Saturday night, I attended a fundraising spaghetti dinner for the Veterans' Memorial in Moriarty (pics attached). Then Sunday morning John Wallace and I participated in a fundraiser at Bill & Darlene Singer's, followed by canvassing in Albuquerque with my Campaign Manager, Nan Rush. It's been fun putting up signs with John Barnhart over the past few weeks as well.
Thanks to everyone who's already signed up to phone canvas tomorrow evening - please call our office at 505-286-DEMS(3367) if you're interested in joining us - the more the merrier! We've also been busy registering voters.

John Wallace, who is running for House District 22,and I are hosting a picnic Sunday, October 2 (details below). I hope you can join us - we're having guest speakers and there will be lots of good food - probably a softball game at some point during the festivities. I'd love to see you there.

We've had 2 "Mock Debates" here at East Mountain Dem HQ, and both went very well. Many thanks to the volunteers who played the Jim White and Moderator roles, and those in the audience who gave excellent and valuable feedback on my "performance." Events such as these keep me on my toes and enable me to hone my speaking skills and policy positions. I've added some important bullet points to my new palm cards, including stiffer penalties for human trafficking, and ensuring stable, reliable Internet service here in the East Mountains.

Many thanks to Bill and Darlene Singer for hosting a Meet & Greet Friday night. John Wallace, Candidate for NM House, District 22, joined me again. Despite a rainy evening, we had a good turnout. Kudos to Bill for the good food and to all for the good company. These events are a great way for me to meet local folks, some who know me and others who come to hear why I'm running and learn a bit about my plans for District 19. Pictures attached.

The Meet & Greet at Gwen & John Barnhart's on Friday (pictures below) went great - John Wallace, Candidate for NM House, District 22, joined me and about 18 friends for an evening of short speeches (at least on John's part), good company, and very tasty food. Thanks, Gwen & John, for hosting, and to all the attendees as well. It was great getting to know our future constituents. Another Meet & Greet is coming up Friday, July 1.
