This is Kiyah! She's a recent Charles Page High School graduate AND a LIFETIME member of the Girl Scouts! Kiyah, and the other girls in Troop 7230 had $100 left in their charitable fund. After the girls graduated, they decided as a "last charitable act" to take their $100 and convert it into Toilet Paper and Vienna Sausage to bless Sand Springs Community Services and their recipients! Thank you, Kiyah and Girl Scouts of Troop 7230 for choosing us as you step into young adulthood! We are confident that all of you will continue to embrace the spirit of charity and will always seek to help the most vulnerable. Thank you! If you know Kiyah, her mom Kristi and the other members of Troop 7230, please tell them "Way to Go!"

Sand Springs Community Services has served Sand Springs residents for 97 years! One of its "staple" programs is the food pantry. People often don't realize the unique items that our pantry has available to families requesting food! Thanks to our partnership with the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma and our contracts with the local grocers, we have some pretty amazing items available for our patrons! While specific stock varies day to day, our families know that the food we provide back to them is high-quality, and much like anything they would find at the grocery store! Most of our clients are happy and exhibit pride when they receive our food. Sometimes, we are even able to provide "culturally sensitive" or diet restrictive items as well! Our pantry is one way that Sand Springs Community Services provides assistance today and hope for tomorrow.

What a week! We distributed over 400 backpacks, school supplies and $40 vouchers for Wal-Mart, all while still serving families with food requests and supporting the basic needs of our homeless individuals. A special volunteer crew pictured here helped us unload a 6000 lb. food donation from the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma IN THE RAIN! And these sweet ladies, the Sand Springs Silver Quilters group brought quilts and a thoughtful financial donation as well! We can't do this without the commitment and consistency from our staff, our board, our regular volunteers, and the generous support from our community! Thank you!
