On August 13, 2026, the San Ysidro School District Governing Board and Superintendent proudly recognized the San Ysidro Education Collaborative Leadership Team for its outstanding leadership, service, and continued commitment to the students and families of San Ysidro. Established in 2013, the Collaborative brings together volunteer leaders from education, business, and community organizations to strengthen partnerships, leverage resources, and provide meaningful services for children and families. Under the leadership of Chair Cynthia Nagura, the Collaborative continues to bring together dedicated community partners who share a commitment to strengthening opportunities and resources for San Ysidro students and families. The Board recognized Cynthia Nagura, Chair; Gaby Millan; Alice de la Torre; Maritza Chavarin; Vania Ramirez; Cristina Inzunza; Mariela Mendoza; Jose Daniel Armendariz; Eric Meyer; and Alma Villa Ortiz for their dedication, service, and collective leadership.
Through their efforts, the San Ysidro Education Collaborative has helped advance initiatives in STEM education, parent engagement, education and career pathways, mental wellness, youth empowerment, intergenerational programs, and other areas that connect students and families with valuable resources and experiences. Under Cynthia Naguraβs leadership, the Collaborative has continued to strengthen relationships among schools, businesses, community organizations, and local leaders, demonstrating what can be accomplished when a community comes together around the needs of its children and families. The Governing Board and Superintendent expressed their sincere appreciation to Cynthia and the entire Leadership Team for demonstrating the power of community partnership and for making a lasting difference in San Ysidro. Congratulations to the San Ysidro Education Collaborative Leadership Team on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you for your continued dedication to empowering our students, strengthening our families, and building a stronger San Ysidro community.
