An evening filled with inspiration, connection, and powerful reminders of what happens when trailblazers and future leaders come together!

From the remarkable Hall of Fame inductees to our Student Ambassadors, this was Wisdom in Action at its best.

We are especially proud of our incredible Ambassadors, Jessica Mendieta, Ruby Cole, and Mira Sridharan, who co-moderated the panels.

We are honored to partner with the YWCA and Dominican University’s Women Leadership and Philanthropy Council and their Institute for Leadership Studies to make events like this possible ✨

We hope to see you tonight!

Our commissioners had a lovely time at the “Getting to Know You” event. These are the kinds of spaces that really matter, a room full of incredible women who are showing up and getting things done!

Our Chair, Sonia, had the opportunity to share about our work and ways we can continue collaborating and building together.

It was a great reminder of what this work is all about: community, collaboration, and empowering each other to make a meaningful difference for women and girls in our community.

Thank you Dominican University of California’s Institute for Leadership Studies, Marin & Sonoma Women at Work, and the Dominican University Women, Leadership and Philanthropy Council for hosting!

Over the past decade, has grown into a leading model for youth empowerment and civic engagement in Marin:

👯‍♀️3,500+ attendees — Teen girls from public, private, and alternative schools across Marin County.
👩🏽‍💻150+ Teen Ambassadors — Trained in leadership, event planning, and advocacy.
👩🏽‍🎓120+ workshops and panels — Covering mental health, body image, leadership, career readiness, healthy relationships, and civic engagement.
👩🏻‍🔧200+ professional women — Speakers, panelists, and mentors offering role modeling and real-world insights.
🗣️30+ community organizations annually — Providing resources and information on health, wellness, college access, and support services.

The Marin Teen Girls Conference will be on hiatus in 2026. Rising costs to host the event and difficulty in fundraising make it necessary to pause the conference next year. Since its launch in 2011, the Marin Teen Girls Conference has empowered thousands of young women with workshops, leadership opportunities, and connections that will last a lifetime. The conference has been a cornerstone of our work, and we are deeply proud of the creativity, confidence, and community it has fostered.

Leadership Opportunities for Teens
While the annual conference will be paused, we are working on developing opportunities for teen girls to participate in leadership activities with the Commission including the Women’s Needs Assessment we are embarking upon!

Dear Friend of the Commission:

Are you a former Commissioner? Have you partnered with us on an event or project? You’re invited to celebrate a milestone in Marin County—50 years of advocacy, service, and progress with the Marin Women’s Commission. This event will honor the extraordinary work of the Commission! We’ll be serving charcuterie boards, treats and coffee.

We’ve invited Katy McKnight, Sr. Dir. of Community Engagement @ SF-Marin Food Bank to be our speaker. We believe that empowering our community begins with ensuring everyone has access to basic needs—starting with food. To mark our 50th, we’d like to raise at least $1,974 for SFMFB, please join us by making a financial donation here, or using the QR code above.

We look forward to seeing you. RSVP in the link in bio!
