This weekend LAPD Street Racing Task Force along with multiple LAPD specialized units and other agencies conducted enforcement of a street take over that occurred in the Harbor Gateway.

Hundreds of people were detained and arrested to the point where LAPD transport buses had to be requested. On the other hand dozens of vehicles were towed and will be held on 30 day hold. Now hundreds of people will have to answer to the judge and their employers on why they were arrested participating in a dangerous street take over.

Do you feel the judge should take away their license and for juveniles hold their parents accountable????

We praise the police officers who took action to this nuisance for which the community has complained for such a long time. Let this be an example to all street takeovers that occur in the future. LAPD will enforce the law.

This past week LAPD Harbor Division Senior Lead Officers along with our H-Cops had the honor of attending the grand opening of McDonalds at our very own Wilmington.

Wilmington being a growing community, this proves to be a great advancement towards the influx of more visitors and business. We look forward to working along side McDonalds for the advancement of the Wilmington community.

This past weekend Officer Park and Officer Diaz received a radio call regarding a vandalism that occurred. Upon arriving they find out it is an assault with a deadly weapon and the suspect would not go voluntarily locking himself in his home.

The cavalry was called and a plan was made. All the boxes were checked and precautions taken. The door was breached and the suspect placed in handcuffs. He has been arrested countless times and added one more arrest from Harbor Division.

Some people say why are the cops taking so long. Just break the door. There are a lot of phone calls, notifications and precautions that are taken to ensure no one is hurt from both sides.

But when the neighbors appreciate our work and say finally we are arresting that suspect, you know he was a menace in that neighborhood.

When citizens fight back and help cops…!!!

Yesterday Officer Gutierrez and Officer Arevalo responded to a radio call regarding a vehicle that was taken without consent from a families home by an unknown suspect.

This is where we say citizens fight back because the victim had a tracker in his vehicle. Officers began tracking the car as it drove around.

But guess what…???
The suspect parks the car just North of LAPD Harbor Station… 🤣🤣🤣 Officers immediately respond and take the suspect into custody. Suspect is high as a kite on unknown narcotics. The victims got his car back and the suspect will enjoy facing justice. The suspect now knows the address of LAPD Harbor Division.

We commend the fast action of putting the information out by the initial officers and everyone else in apprehending the suspect. Also commending the citizen for putting a tracker in his vehicle.

Officer Ruezga and Officer Diaz received a radio call regarding robbery in progress at the Ralph’s grocery store on Western Avenue. The suspect was gone upon the officers arrival, but they did not give up. The officers canvassed the area and located him about half a block away.

The suspect did not listen to officers commands and did not want to be arrested. The climax is when the suspect was taken into custody, he kicked, spit and injured officers. That added a slew of charges to his arrest.

This was a suspect who had to be taken off the street or else he would end up hurting an innocent civilian. We appreciate all the officers that responded and put in the work to help the suspect face justice.

Officer Dunlop and Officer Wheeler were patrolling in Wilmington when they observed a vehicle committing multiple vehicle code violations. Where else but on Pacific Coast Highway. They activated their forward facing lights and sirens, and to their surprise the vehicle stopped.

The driver and passenger were both removed from the vehicle smelling like alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest for driving under the influence. As the vehicle was being searched due to it being impounded, a gun was recovered, and the passenger was also placed under arrest.

This is what we call proactive policing with a snowball effect. A traffic stop that keeps on giving. Now drunk girlfriend and gun wielding boyfriend can both spend a beautiful night together in jail.

Officer Garcia and Officer Lima strike again. They were patrolling the area of Harbor Division when they observed a stolen vehicle driving. They tried to stop it, but they didn’t have any intention on stopping.

Officer activated lights and sirens, but the suspects put the pedal to the metal. After a short pursuit the suspects thought it was easier to escape on foot. Definitely the wrong answer !!!

The driver was caught and arrested. Fun fact, all occupants were juveniles with a record of stealing vehicles. Per the legal system they keep getting let out to their parents custody. What do you think should be done???

We commend the officers for doing their job on a daily basis no matter the legal outcome from courts.

Shoplifting has been a crime that has plagued many cities in Los Angeles. It happens quick and causes a loss of livelihood to the business owners.

LAPD Harbor officers received a call of shoplifting in progress and someone was attempting to detain the suspect at WSS Shoe Store. Luckily Officer Solorzano was in the area and responded quickly. He was able to take a suspect into custody while another one had fled the scene. Multiple high end shoes were recovered and returned.

Hopefully this sent a message to the suspects to not come from Compton to steal at LAPD Harbor Division.
