Want a fun, flexible volunteer role where you’ll learn about a neighbor and be engaged with your local library? Project Second Chance, Contra Costa County Library’s adult literacy program, is recruiting for volunteer adult literacy tutors.

Join us at an in-person orientation at the Hercules Library on Wednesday, September 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to learn more.

Celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival with a hands-on Chinese calligraphy workshop! Participants will learn traditional Chinese brush techniques, basic strokes, and the fundamentals of Chinese calligraphy while creating their own artwork to take home.

Registration required. Please register at ccclib.org or call San Pablo Library at 510-374-3998.

All supplies will be provided. For ages 12 & up.

This program is generously funded by the Friends of the San Pablo Library.

Read Aloud Together starts tomorrow at 3:30pm! We will be reading out loud Frog and Toad Are Friends by Arnold Lobel this month.

Reading text out loud helps children build vocabulary and learn to read. This program is best for early readers in grades Kindergarten to 2nd grade. We'll have copies available to borrow. See you there! 🐸📖

Come meet other teens, build leadership and communication skills, and make a difference in your community. All abilities are welcome! No registration required.
