🚨 SAVE THE DATE! 🚨

The 2026 Central Coast Law Enforcement Explorer Competition is coming to Atascadero on October 24! 👮‍♀️👮‍♂️

This year’s competition will be a one-day event featuring law enforcement scenarios designed to challenge Explorers’ skills, teamwork and decision-making.

📅 October 24, 2026
📍 Atascadero, CA
💵 $125 per Explorer | $90 per Advisor
☕ Check-in & breakfast: 7–8 AM
🏁 Competition Welcome: 8 AM, followed by scenarios

Participants are encouraged to compete in every event, with points from each scenario contributing to overall scores. 🏆 Plaques will be awarded for 1st–3rd place in each event, as well as overall competition winners.

🎓 Scholarships may also be awarded! The top 10 qualifiers will have the opportunity to interview for available scholarships.

🥇 Awards Ceremony Highlights! 🥇

What a day! A huge congratulations to all the incredible teams who competed — you really brought your best this year.

A special shoutout to our First Place Overall Team — Riverside Police Department! 👏 Coming in Second Place, it was great seeing familiar faces from Visalia Police Department, and rounding out the top three was another returning team — Kings County Sheriff’s Office!

Everyone did an amazing job, and we’re so proud of the effort, teamwork, and professionalism shown by every Explorer who participated.

We had a great time hosting this month’s Central Coast Explorer Competition! Thank you to all 12 fantastic teams from across the state who joined us for a full day of scenarios, teamwork, and fun.

The Central Coast Law Enforcement Explorer Competition is back!
📍 Cuesta College, San Luis Obispo
📅 Saturday, October 18, 2025

Check-in and breakfast: 0700–0800 hrs
Competition Welcome: 0800 hrs
Scenarios begin immediately after

This full-day event challenges Explorer POSTs with realistic law enforcement scenarios and skills competitions. 🏆 Plaques will be awarded for 1st–5th place in each event, plus overall team scores.

💡 Scholarship Opportunity: The top 10 qualifiers will move on to interviews, with scholarships awarded based on performance.

Cost:
👮 $125.00 per Explorer (includes lunch & event shirt)
👨‍🏫 $90.00 per Advisor (includes lunch & event shirt)
Each POST must have at least one paid Advisor in attendance.

We encourage participants to join every scenario, as points add up toward overall placement.

Post 3 of 3: Wrapping up an incredible day at the Central Coast Explorer Competition with our Awards Ceremony! Congratulations to all the winners and every team that brought their best. A special shoutout to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Explorers, who took home first place overall! A huge thank you to our San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office staff and explorers, and everyone else who made this event possible. We hope all Explorers left with new skills and great memories. Looking forward to next year!

We were beyond impressed with the teamwork and determination each team brought to the competition.
