I was delighted to celebrate 250 years of Hungarian-American contributions at the Hungarian American Coalition Gala at the Library of Congress on April 27. It was an inspiring evening among extraordinary luminaries, including Nobel Laureate Katalin Karikó, space pioneer Charles Simonyi, former Governor George Pataki, Dr. Katrina Lantos Swett, astronaut Tibor Kapu, Ambassador Szabolcs Takács, Robert Palladino, and many others.
The celebration began two days earlier at the Hungarian Heritage Festival, followed by events at the historic Kossuth House, where the wonderful Martians exhibit was installed, a business panel featuring astronaut Tibor Kapu, as well as a HYPE (Young Hungarian Professionals) networking event.
Indeed, the next generation of professionals proved that our “Martian” reputation for intelligence remains well earned. The weekend showcased the talent, creativity, and spirit of the Hungarian American community while honoring both our heritage and the exciting future we continue to build together. I was truly honored to have been part of such a memorable series of events.

I was pleased to co-sponsor “WEAVING THE FUTURE, HOW TO “GROW” A ROBOT” with the Hungarian Innovators of Silicon Valley a hybrid presentation by Benedek Tasi and Zsófia Nguyen (Allonic), showcasing a revolutionary Hungarian-developed technology called 3D Tissue Braiding. This innovative approach “grows” synthetic muscles and tissues directly onto robotic structures, blurring the line between biology and engineering and pointing toward a new era of fluid, lifelike robotics.
