A message from the California WIC Association:

At WIC, we understand that the federal government shutdown may raise concerns for families who rely on our services. We want to reassure you that WIC is committed to keeping families informed as the situation evolves.

California WIC will continue to serve and enroll families during the shutdown as long as funding is available. Families should continue using their WIC benefits and attending all scheduled WIC appointments as usual.

For the most up-to-date information, please visit the MyFamily website regularly. Any changes to WIC services during the shutdown will be shared there as soon as possible.

Thank you for being a part of the WIC community. We’re here for you—and we’ll continue to provide support for as long as we can.

WIC celebrates Black Breastfeeding Week.

WIC Celebra la Semana de La Lactancia Afroamericana!

Are you ready?? This year marks 14 years of Black Breastfeeding Week (Aug. 25-31) and we are so excited about this year’s theme lifting up our history of community support and the role of community centered organizations in making breast/body feeding work for Black families.

Plus, we may just need to get a bodyfeeding folx line dance going !!! We can’t wait to see what you all do with this year’s theme.

Agosto es e​​​l inicio del Mes Nacional de la Lactancia. WIC ayuda a las familias a alimentar a sus bebés con apoyo con el que pueden contar. Prestamos servicios a participantes y sus familias de muchas culturas y comunidades. Los padres pueden obtener apoyo de consejeros y expertos en lactancia. Este mes, reconocemos el apoyo que hace posible la lactancia y el dar pecho.

August is the start of National Breastfeeding Month. WIC helps families feed their babies with support they can count on. We serve participants and their families from many cultures and communities. Parents can get support from peer counselors and lactation experts. This month, we recognize the support that makes breastfeeding and chestfeeding possible.​
