A couple of weeks ago, we helped out at a car seat safety check event, hosted by Ally Medical ER San Marcos the Hays County Sheriff's Office, to keep our community’s littlest passengers safe and secure! 🚗💛

Our Community Health Services Manager earned her Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) certification last November, along with Deputies from the Sheriff's Office's Community Outreach Division. Now, this crew can help families in Hays County ensure every car seat is installed safely and correctly. Stay tuned for more events like this by following the Sheriff's Office's social media and ours!

We wrapped up Mental Health Awareness Month on a high note! 🧠
Our Hays County Health Department team had a great time at the Mental Health Resource Fair hosted by the Hill Country MHDD Center.

It was wonderful to see so many organizations come together to share mental health resources with our community.
Thank you to everyone who visited our table, picked up a resource directory, and connected with us. 💙

Pup cups and low-cost pet-care clinics are a pawfect match! 🐶🐱
Over the weekend, the Hays County Health Department Animal Welfare Services Division collaborated with Pet Prevent a Litter - PALS, Walt Smith Hays County Precinct 4 Commissioner’s Office, Whole Pets Market Dripping Springs, and Wimberley Veterinary Clinic for two different events: the low-cost pet-care clinic and the free rabies vaccine event. 💉

Both dogs and cats were given low-cost vaccines and nail trims, free microchips, free selected vaccines, and free pup cups for being so brave! 🐾

Thank you to our partners for making this event possible, we couldn’t have done it without you. We also want to thank all the pet owners in Hays County who brought their pets in for low-cost care. Thank you for keeping the pets of Hays County safe and protected! 💙

Los pup cups y las clínicas de cuidado de mascotas a bajo costo van ¡pawfectly de la pata! 🐶🐱
Durante el fin de semana, la División de Servicios de Bienestar Animal del Departamento de Salud del Condado de Hays colaboró con PALS, la oficina del comisionado Walt Smith, Whole Pets Market y la Clínica Veterinaria Wimberley en dos eventos diferentes: la clínica de atención veterinaria a bajo coste y el evento de vacunación gratuito contra la rabia. 💉

At the workshop, we will discuss what the Indigent Healthcare Program is, its eligibility requirements, the screening process, and the benefits it provides. After the presentation, we will have applications and paperwork available for organizations that work with individuals needing this service to take home. 📋
