We joined sdsheriff and San Marcos Unified at an E-bike Safety event at San Marcos High School earlier this week . ✨🤝 There, important safety information was shared with students and parents.

If you or your child plans to use a bike or an e-bike, remember to keep these tips in mind: 🚲

🛡️ Be safe: always wear a helmet
💡 Be visible: use lights and reflective gear
👀 Be aware: remove distractions and stay alert
➡️ Be predictable: ride with the flow of traffic and follow all traffic rules

Parents, remember to talk to your kids about biking safely and following traffic laws. Drivers, be sure to slow down in school zones and be alert. Walkers and riders, be visible and follow the rules so every trip is a safe one. Learn more by visiting, sanmarcosca.gov/e-bikes.

The City of San Marcos is beginning its annual street paving program to help extend the life of our roads, reduce the need for costly emergency repairs and keep your drive as smooth as possible. Starting next week on Sept. 8, crews will begin resurfacing approximately 21 miles of streets throughout the city.

Here’s what to expect:
🚗 Two-way traffic will generally be maintained, but flaggers may direct traffic in work zones.
⏱️ Please plan for possible delays and allow extra travel time.
🚧 Watch for construction signs along major roads for work dates.

If your street is scheduled for paving, you’ll receive notices before work begins with important information. We know construction can be an inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience as we make improvements that help keep San Marcos streets safe and well maintained for years to come.
