✨Don’t forget to read for fun this summer! We encourage our heroes to read every single day, even if it’s only for a few minutes. For every minute your child reads, they are strengthening their reading skills.

📚Visit the San Marcos Public Library to find amazing books and programs all summer long! You can begin with their Summer Reading Kickoff Party this Friday 5/29 at 9:30!

📚What an amazing celebration at the Tomás Rivera Award 30th Anniversary Literature Fair this Saturday! We had Kinder and 1st grade students marching in the parade and 4th and 5th grade students dancing and performing poetry to introduce authors at the San Marcos Public Library! 📚

We will have dress up days and fun activities to celebrate reading all week long!
✨📚Did you know that a child's ability to read has a direct effect on their future success? Reading with your child helps to increase their vocabulary and improves their reading fluency and comprehension. The week of March 2nd, we encourage EVERYONE to pick up a book and read to a child. Whether it’s a beloved classic or something new and exciting, we encourage you to spread the joy of reading. 📙We had a READ-tastic November with 34,000 minutes of reading logged during Touchdowns for Reading, a cozy Fine Arts & Literacy night, and an awesome Literati Book Fair! Thank you to everyone who participated and supported literacy and the library!
Winter Break’s around the corner and I’m inviting students to continue the reading celebration with Winter Reading Bingo! Students who complete the sheet and get it signed by a parent will win a prize!
