The district fisheries office, in partnership with the Lake Buchanan Conservation Corporation, recently completed a fish habitat enhancement project on Lake Buchanan - refurbishing 20 brush pile fish attractor locations across the reservoir.

Each site is marked with a buoy to help anglers easily locate these structures, which provide important habitat for sportfish.

This 11.1-pound largemouth bass is the pending waterbody record for the San Marcos River, caught by Brayden Anderson Carswell. The fish was released.

A record breaking run for Julia Mason Bernstein - 2 common carp (39.76 inches long, Lady Bird Lake, and 25.94 pounds, Walter Long), longnose gar (16.63 pounds, Trinity River), alligator gar (88.70 pounds, Trinity River), and smallmouth buffalo (54.81 pounds, Walter Long). Congratulations!

Willie Pipkin released his 14.05-pound largemouth bass back into Lady Bird Lake. The fish was loaned to TPWD for the Toyota ShareLunker Program based at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens.

ShareLunker (14.05 lb) from Lady Bird Lake. It is also the pending Waterbody Record. Nice fish!

Legacy Class ShareLunker 672 was just landed by Willie Pipkin at Lady Bird Lake. Willie’s catch weighed in at 14.05 pounds and is the pending Waterbody Record. This is the third Legacy Class fish of the season. Willie, thank you for your contribution to the next generation of trophy bass in Texas.

While fishing with his uncle on November 16, 2024, Derek Garcia caught this 21 pound Smallmouth Buffalo out of Walter E. Long Reservoir using a rod and reel with a tiger nut and fake corn. This catch earned Derek a Junior Water Body Record for his catch!

William Ayton caught this 69.4 pound, 50 inch-long Blue Catfish out of Inks Lake on September 24, 2024 using a Rod and Reel. William earned a Big Fish Award, Water Body Record, and a Water Body Release Record for his catch! Congratulations William!
