🚨 We are entering peak wildfire season & we want you to be ready for smoke impacts across California! Wildfire smoke contains tiny particles that can travel far and harm your lungs and heart - especially for kids, seniors, pregnant women, and those with health conditions.

Here’s how to protect yourself:
✅ Check local air quality daily – bookmark your air district’s site or visit fire.airnow.gov
✅ Sign up for alerts – get real-time updates by text or email
✅ Stay indoors when it’s smoky
✅ Create a Clean Air Room – use a HEPA filter or DIY version to reduce smoke particles by 90%
✅ Seal up leaks – weatherproof windows and doors
✅ Avoid indoor smoke – skip candles, fireplaces, incense, and smoking

CAL FIRE San Luis Obispo Unit along with surrounding agencies, will conduct live fire training exercises on Valley Road in Arroyo Grande from June 2 through June 5, 2026, with a complete burn down of the structure planned for late Friday afternoon.

This training provides firefighters the opportunity to train together in realistic live-fire conditions and practice critical skills.
