We had an excellent visit last Friday from our Advisory Council members who were here for desk crits and studio pin-ups, plus hosting a resume/portfolio workshop and gallery-style presentation of their own projects.

The evening was spent celebrating the council's 25th Anniversary, honoring four of the five founding members - Martin Flores, Vicky Estrada, Jim Taylor, and Mark Lorge - as well as Emeritus Professor and past CAED Associate Dean Dick Zweifel, and current Department Head Beverly Bass (who will be retiring after this year).

🎉👏🤩 Congratulations on another successful Senior Show, organized by students to present their capstone projects with support from faculty - César Torres and Mueen Bogis - and the department. Thank you to all the friends, family, alumni, and others who came last Saturday for this special event.

One of our studios traveled to Santa Barbara and presented their final projects to stakeholders:

This winter, LA 403: Natural Environments Studio with Daniel Kletzing worked with the City of Santa Barbara Parks Department on trail design, restoration planting, and stream rehabilitation planning for a 13-acre open space park. Students also met with the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden director of education to study restoration planting and invasive removal at Elings Park. Final presentations were at the Palm Park Beach House, SB where students presented to the SB park's director, assistant director, open space manager, capital improvements manager, city arborist, landscape manager, and planning staff.
