We observed and documented the meeting between the organizers of the March Against R**e Culture and the Dean of Students and Police to shed light on what the behind the scenes process of organizing a protest can look like.

There were many questions and answers from all sides and all were able to agree on time, place, and event details - here are a few pictures to illustrate

We are interested in hearing about what you think we should be doing to advance social and environmental justice at Cal Poly. What would you like your newly elected Board of Directors to work on?

Things we have heard students talking about and seen online in the past few weeks:

"the cost of textbooks is too high" "my professor is selling a textbook he "edited" for $130 special print at the bookstore and I found the book online for $6" "no one should have to choose between food and textbooks"

"I am concerned that we have something called a R**e Tunnel near campus and I want to know what the university is doing about that and the fact that multiple students have died on the tracks near it by getting hit by the train. There is no safe place, I mean with an elevation difference, to cross the tracks other than the R**e Tunnel""As a survivor of sexual assault, it was upsetting to learn about the R**e Tunnel when I was a freshman, and it is clear that there is a r**e culture problem at Cal Poly and I don't think that helps."

"While options on campus are getting better, I want to see a more sustainable and local and healthy approach to campus dining." "It seems like some of my ag teachers are against sustainable practices, it is a shame that Cal Poly has such a low percentage of Organic farming. We should be leading the way in sustainable agricultural practices, for economic reasons and because of the deteriorating environment"
