The SLOCDP has endorsed a record crop of local candidates running for local city councils and school boards -- 22 in all.

This doesn't even include our longstanding support for Congressman Salud Carbajal, Rep. Jimmy Panetta, Assemblymember Dawn Addis for the Central Coast, and Assemblymember Gregg Hart.

Who governs our school districts in SLO County will be decided in the Nov. 3 election. This election will inform how we view ourselves as Americans – and whether those elected to govern our public schools reflect our freedoms and shared values.

The San Luis Obispo County Democratic Party (SLOCDP) is still accepting applications for our endorsement for the November 3rd, 2026, general election from all qualified candidates for all races except for those who have already received endorsement decisions, listed below:

• City of San Luis Obispo – Mayor
• City of San Luis Obispo – City Council
• City of Paso Robles – City Council (District 2)
• Lucia Mar Unified School District – Trustee (Area 5, Area 6, Area 7)
• City of Grover Beach – Mayor
• City of Grover Beach – City Council (District 2)
• San Luis Coastal Unified School District – Trustee (Area 2, Area 4)
• Cuesta Community College District – Trustee (Area 4)
• City of Pismo Beach – Mayor
• City of Arroyo Grande – City Council (District 1)
• Atascadero Unified School District
• City of Atascadero – City Council (1 Seat)*
*Additional candidates running in districts / races with "at-large" seats are eligible to seek endorsement up to the limit of seats to be voted for on the ballot.

We've got cool yard signs! Grab some now.

Don't wait! Get 'em while we've got 'em.

The San Luis Obispo County Democratic Party has received a stash of awesome yard signs in preparation for the Nov. 3 election, and we're selling them now!

Pick up yours at the SLOCDP Office, 75 Higuera St., Suite 110, in SLO, where Madonna Road meets South Higuera Street. Hours are from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays.

Cost is $25, and supplies are limited. Proceeds go toward supporting our endorsed candidates throughout SLO County running for school boards, city councils and special districts in the Nov. 3 election.

The San Luis Obispo County Democratic Party (SLOCDP) is accepting applications for our endorsement for the November 3rd, 2026 election for the following races:

• San Luis Coastal Unified School District – Trustee (Area 1, Area 4, Area 5)
• Lucia Mar Unified School District – Trustee (Area 3)

The initial application period will open Monday, June 15th, and all applications must be complete and submitted on or before Tuesday, June 30th, 2026, at 6 p.m.

Candidates wishing to be considered for endorsement by the SLOCDP should allow sufficient time for us to receive copies of necessary filing information from the Secretary of State as they plan their application.

Interview scheduling information will be made available to eligible candidates following receipt of completed applications.
