🚨 CASA in the news 🗞️:
For youth in foster care, CASA is often the one constant — a trusted mentor, advocate, and supportive adult during some of life’s hardest moments. But now, CASA of San Luis Obispo County is facing a devastating 25% funding cut next fiscal year (July 1) that threatens programs and services for local children and youth.
These cuts could mean fewer staff, fewer volunteers supported, and ultimately fewer children receiving the advocacy and stability they deserve. At a time when the number of youth entering foster care is rising, the need for CASA has never been greater.
Stories like Marshall’s (featured in the article) remind us what’s at stake. With the support of his CASA advocate, he graduated high school, enrolled at Cal Poly, and built a future filled with possibility. Every child deserves that same chance.
We need our community now more than ever. Advocate. Volunteer. Donate. Help ensure CASA can continue showing up for children who need someone in their corner. 💙
