🌱 The Fall Compost Giveaway is this Saturday!!! 🌱
Wondering what happens to the food scraps you put in your green cart? 🍎🥕 In SLO, they get a second life!

Our green cart organics are taken to the Kompogas facility, where they’re transformed into nutrient-rich compost and renewable biogas. The biogas helps fuel local homes and create renewable energy, while the compost can be used to nourish gardens and soil. ♻️🌎

Now, you can get some of that compost for your own garden!

🌿 Fall Compost Giveaway
📅 Saturday, September 5
⏰ 10 AM–2 PM
📍 4300 Old Santa Fe Road, San Luis Obispo

Compost is free for the general public and available for residential gardening. A few reminders:
• You must be in line by 2 PM sharp.
• No commercial businesses or landscapers.
• Bringing a pickup or trailer? Bring a tarp to cover your load.
• Shovel it yourself? There’s a separate line—just follow the volunteers’ directions.

It all starts with what you put in your green cart. Food scraps → renewable energy + compost → healthier soil.💚

Thank you for helping !

✅️Single-family homes can place up to 6 extra trash bags for FREE on your regular collection day
