This morning around 8:45, at the corner of San Leanna and Sombrero, my fiancé was out for a walk. A white pickup pulling a box trailer marked “Hernandez Lawn” passed her then stopped. A heavyset Hispanic man jumped out of the passenger door and started running at her. She yelled for him to stop and she turned and ran the other way. In a minute, she looked back and the man turned back, got in the truck and drove off. I’ve tried to find a local service with that name without success. If anyone knows of or uses that service, please let me know. It, justifiably, scared her. Y’all be careful out there!

San Leanna Boil Water Advisory LIFTED! Our water samples have returned negative for any bacteria or microbial contamination. You may resume drinking Village of San Leanna water without boiling.

If you have not been using the tap since our pressure loss and boil notice, you may need to flush the lines by running cold water for a few minutes. There may be sediment or discolored water from the opening and closing of valves last week, but there is no systemic reason you should be experiencing a change in water quality - especially if you have been using the water in the interim.

If you have a water quality issue, please contact the office, and we can troubleshoot the issue.

Village of San Leanna Boil Water Notice Rescinded

2/23/2021

On February 17, 2021, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Village of San Leanna public water system, PWS TX2270071, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of February 23, 2021.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact Rebecca Howe at 512-280-3898 or email [email protected].

Trash and Water Update 2/19/2021. Trash Update

Waste Connections has informed us that there will not be a trash pick up day this week. Regular service will resume on this coming Wednesday with trash and recycling pick up. If you have extra bags that will not fit in your trash receptacle over the next 2-3 weeks, place them out Wednesday mornings as well, and they will pick up everything. Please let me know if you have any questions or contact Waste Connections directly.
——————————————————-
As temperatures rise above freezing, please check and monitor all pipes for leaks - particularly pipes around the perimeter of your homes that might not be immediately apparent from inside your home.

Call the Village office if you have a leak and need help turning off your water until a repair can be made.
——————————————————-
Water is back - The tanks are full!

Thank you so much for your help conserving water while we worked to get the water system flowing again. Both wells are now functioning, and we all can resume normal water use levels. PLEASE CONTINUE TO BOIL ANY WATER FOR CONSUMPTION.

While we have not determined that there is a specific contaminant in the water system, our tanks lost pressure on Wednesday night, and we are required to keep our boil water notice in effect until we are able to have specific tests run on the water to check for bacteria and microbes. These tests have to be sent out to a lab. Due to the high number of water systems in Texas with boil water notices in effect, the labs will likely be quite backed up. We will rescind the boil water notice as soon as we have results back. We are projecting this will be between Tuesday and Friday of this coming week.

Bottle Drinking Water

Mayor Quirk has been working with the Manchaca Fire Department and TDEM to navigate ordering drinking water for the Village of San Leanna. We will keep you updated but at this time the earliest we could expect drinking water delivery would be this Sunday. Orders for water in communities with no water service are being prioritized over those who have water but must boil. There is a chance that we will not receive bottled water as our system is currently functioning. Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your health or well-being. We will do our best to pool resources for you.

Waste Connections Trash PickUp Delayed. Just in case you are unaware... due to weather and safety concerns, Waste Connections will NOT be picking up our trash on Wednesday, so don’t head out your icy driveway to put it out. So far, plans are still to pick up on Thursday, but will depend on conditions. Stay safe everyone, and if you go out, watch for icy patches.

Please be on the look out for Rocky! A message from his owner: Rocky has done it again. He loves to escape. This time he ran off with a leash around his neck. If you have seen him please call or text 5126569091. He is a brown mini pin. He likely won’t have his blue collar on him if you find him as if he’s gotten off the leash the collar is likely still attached. He is very nice and will come up to you.
