Last year, ACRATT investigators recovered 1,327 stolen vehicles. So far this year, we have recovered 1,163.

Vehicle thieves don’t seem to be slowing down, so make sure you secure your vehicles, don’t leave them running unattended, and try to park in illuminated or secured areas to reduce the chances of being a victim of auto theft.

The last two weeks, ACRATT has conducted two operations in Oakland on the railroad tracks near the Coliseum.

ACRATT recovered approximately 50 stolen vehicles during the operations. Unfortunately, all of the vehicles were in various stages of being stripped and many of the vehicles were burned.

Last week, ACRATT was conducting probation compliance checks in San Leandro and Hayward. The checks were focused on individuals that were on probation for auto theft.

While enroute from one location to another in Hayward, ACRATT investigators observed an occupied stolen vehicle near a park on Tampa Ave.

Thanks to the assistance of our CHP partners, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Yesterday, ACRATT investigators conducted a search warrant at a business operating as a chop shop in East Oakland.

The search warrant resulted in the recovery of several stolen engines and transmissions, as well as various other components and two vehicles.

This is an ongoing investigation.

Yesterday, ACRATT investigators located and recovered this stolen Challenger Hellcat Redeye in Oakland less than an hour after receiving notification of its theft!

We will continue to aggressively investigate vehicle theft, recover stolen vehicles and arrest car thieves.

Hello everyone! We hope you’ve been having a great 2020!

It’s been a few years since we last posted, but in that time we have remained busy. We have recovered thousands of stolen vehicles, dismantled chop shops and arrested dozens of auto theft suspects.
